Azamgarh: Husband murdered in property dispute, wife and other family members arrested
A man was murdered by his own family members due to property dispute in Rani Ki Sarai police station area of Azamgarh district. Today, the police has disclosed the case and arrested four accused. The arrested accused include deceased Manilal Yadav’s wife Chandrakala Devi, son Ravi Yadav, daughter-in-law Chandana Yadav and brother-in-law Subhash Yadav.
According to the police, there was a dispute in the family regarding the sale of Manilal Yadav’s ancestral land. Chandrakala Devi wanted to get the remaining land registered in her name, but Manilal opposed it. Tension increased in the family over this matter. On the night of 25/26 November, Chandrakala, Ravi, Chandana and Subhash together planned to kill Manilal.
At midnight, all four reached Manilal’s room. Subhash Yadav, who is Manilal’s brother-in-law, first gagged Manilal. Then Chandana and Chandrakala held Manilal’s feet and Ravi held his hands. When Manilal fell unconscious, Subhash slit his throat with a knife kept in the house.
The police arrested all four accused and recovered the knife and pillow used in the murder. A case was registered against all four under Section 103(1) BNS and they were produced in court.
