Sensational murder of farmer in Azamgarh
A heartbreaking incident came to light in Navli village of Kaptanganj police station area of Azamgarh district on Friday late evening. 50-year-old Sunil Rai, a resident of Devhata village, was shot dead while he was plowing the field with his tractor. After the incident, the head and torso of the body were found at different places, which has further complicated the case for the police.
Sunil Rai used to do farming and driving a tractor for his livelihood. On the day of the incident, he had gone to plow the field of Triveni Prajapati in the neighboring village Navli in the morning. In the evening, hearing the sound of the gunshot, the villagers reached the spot and found Sunil Rai dead, covered in blood.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, sent the body for post-mortem and started the investigation. SP Rural Chirag Jain says that family members are being questioned to clarify the reasons behind the murder.
The police are looking at two possibilities—either Sunil’s head was cut by the hammer attached to the back of the tractor after being shot, or some sharp weapon was used. The incident has created a sensation in the entire village. Sunil Rai has left behind his wife, a son and a daughter. The police is investigating every angle and is claiming to solve the case soon.
