The IEC says it is concerned with incidents of unlawful conduct directed at its operations or against electoral officials and urged the public to allow its staff to continue with their electoral processes.
This after two people were arrested on Tuesday in Mpumalanga for allegedly interfering with the Commission’s material and threatening its staff.
As South Africans go to the polls today, law enforcement agencies have assured the public that more boots on the ground have been deployed to ensure everyone that will be exercising their democratic right, does so in a peaceful, safe and secure environment.
