According to Dr. Manish Kumar, when someone’s body is donated, it is used in the education of students. He said, ‘First of all, the body is fixed through formalin. This means that the body is put through a process after which no bacteria or germs are produced in the body.
This makes the body like a piece of wood and the body does not get spoiled. After this, it is used for research. Often the body is used by first year students and they study different parts of the body. In such a situation, the students study different parts one by one.’ The doctor said, ‘But, due to repeated exposure to air, a time comes when the body has to be destroyed. In this situation, the body is again given to the family. But, it is not that when the body is given to the family, it is in bad condition.
