यूपी के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ और समाजवादी पार्टी के अध्यक्ष अखिलेश यादव दोनों ही आज़मगढ़ में थे. योगी आदित्यनाथ ने आज आज़मगढ़ में जो रैली की, उसमें जनता जनार्दन एक डिसिप्लिन में खड़ी थी. आज़मगढ़ में अखिलेश यादव की रैली में जनसैलाब ने आज फिर हुड़दंग के सारे बांध यानी सारे बैरीकेड तोड़ दिये. आजमगढ़ में अखिलेश यादव अपने उम्मीदवार दारोगा प्रसाद के लिये वोट मांगने गये थे. थोड़ी देर में भीड़ बैरीकेड तोड़कर मंच की तरफ़ दौड़ पड़ी.
